EnviroFlight® Premium dried black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) meal is produced from oven dried larvae without the use of chemicals or microwaves. All larvae are grown right here in the USA and fed a diet composed of pre-consumer by-product, AAFCO approved ingredients.
The meal is pressed larvae, removing a portion of the oil to provide a high protein ground product that can be used in a variety of livestock, aquaculture and pet manufactured feed products.
The fat content can be customized based on the customer’s needs.

Our pilot plant opened in 2009, and since then, we have been observing and analyzing the Black Soldier Fly for its potential. Our first discovery was that Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL) can be used as a high quality nutrient source for poultry, fish, pets, exotics and swine in a variety of forms.
Harnessing the power of the fly will help us feed the animals that will ultimately feed our rapidly growing population.
Additionally, because BSFL are fed pre-consumer food manufacturing leftovers and by-products, we have the potential to significantly contribute to efforts that keep food waste out of landfills, reclaiming those nutrients so they can successfully enter into the food chain! Turns out insects can help sustainably address the global issue of world hunger.

Quality: Our feedstock ingredients are approved by The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) ensuring a premium product, and our feed and fertilizer products are registered with the appropriate State Departments of Agriculture and the FDA.
Consistency: By implementing best practices for our feed ingredients, animal care, and processing, we are able to manufacture balanced, high-performance products.
Capacity: Leveraging years of applied research and development in our Ohio pilot plant, our animal-rearing and manufacturing systems and practices have been designed for mass production. EnviroFlight will open its first U.S. commercial-scale production facility in 2018, which will employ a commercial BSFL platform and provide a sustainable source of sought-after high-quality nutrients for the pet food, poultry, aquaculture, livestock, young animal and exotic feed industries.

Our Yellow Springs, Ohio pilot plant and our Maysville, Kentucky commercial facility are routinely inspected and approved by the respective Ohio and Kentucky Departments of Agriculture, and are fully compliant with the standards established by the US Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).
